How much does citizenship cost?
The cost depends on the complexity of the case: the grounds, the country of your current citizenship and the state of your documents. After the consultation, Alliance Consulting fixes the scope of work and the cost in the contract.
How long does the process take?
The timeline depends on the workload of the Romanian authorities and the circumstances of the case. Realistic estimates are discussed at the consultation after your situation is analysed.
Do I have to give up my current citizenship?
No. Romania allows dual citizenship — you keep your current passport. It is worth checking whether your own country allows a second citizenship; we will help you work through the details at the consultation.
Do I need to learn Romanian?
In-depth knowledge is not required. At the oath ceremony you say a short oath in Romanian — it is not a language exam. You can prepare for the ceremony in advance.
What if I do not have enough documents?
Some documents can be recovered from state archives. Whether and how depends on the country and the period — we will assess the prospects of your situation at the consultation.
Do I have to live in Romania permanently?
No. Permanent residence in Romania is not required for citizenship on these grounds. Personal presence is needed at certain stages of the process — the details are discussed individually.
Do you guarantee the passport?
The decision to grant citizenship is made by a Romanian state authority — it does not depend on the consultant. Alliance Consulting is responsible for preparing the documents properly and supporting the process at every stage.
What language do we communicate in?
English, Ukrainian and Russian. Documents filed with the Romanian authorities are drawn up in Romanian (a requirement of local law); correspondence and explanations are in the language convenient for you.
